A Little About Myself

JCneutral8x10.jpg

I come from a dog-loving, travel-happy family that lives in a cabin in the middle of the Triangle.

Growing up, my parents were gone at work for the most part. My mom worked in the hospital all day and my dad traveled a lot as an engineer. I was raised by my grandma and she taught me how to play piano when I was 7yrs old.

She was the one who opened my eyes to the musical world.

I explored many different genres of music and sang to myself quite often. As time went on, I expressed my interest in taking voice lessons to my parents and they happily signed me up with a voice teacher in the area. We sang through many genres of music, but it wasn't long until we both found my spark in musical theatre.

From there, it became a passion.

As a freshman in high school, I auditioned for my first musical, Into the Woods and landed my first role as Little Red Riding Hood. And from there, theatre became my little light in the dark. After high school and being accepted into East Carolina University's Theatre Arts program with a Musical Theatre concentration, I was on my own. No one else in my family was familiar with theatre and how everything worked, so I had to stay on top of everything and take on every obstacle as it came at me. As a result of that, it made me an independent and a fast learner with an open, fiery personality. I try keeping myself busy by trying to improve myself in any way I can personally and professionally.

And now, after years of hard work, criticism, and drive,  this Apex-cabin-living girl is out and about with a plan to make her life happen in the city.
